BROWN SHEEP
MILL END ROVINGS

This is the way the mill end rovings arrive
at The Sheep Shed Studio.  They then
must be removed from the bags and
sorted.
THESE ROVINGS ARE MILL ENDS!!!!
They are not perfect, they have been tossed in boxes,
put in bags, hauled, stored in bins.  They are top
spinning and felting fibers, but may not be exactly as
pictured.
Dec. 2011.....We are selling more mill ends than we are
bringing in. We will fill orders with what we have.
The  Brown Tones
we have a wide array of brown tones.    
Dark, medium or light brown tones.
Wide or narrow striping.  If you have a
preference we will try to fill it.  If we
cannot,  we will ship the next closest
colorway.
The Black Tones
We have a wide array of black tones.
Lots of striping in Dark, Medium and
Light shades.  If you have a
preference we will try to fill it.  If we
cannot, we will ship the next closest
colorway.
Grab Bags
$8.00 per pound

Grab bags are filled with the
fibers that don't fit the
roving category.  The fiber
might be filmy batts like the
one shown on the right or a
combination of carded
fibers.  All are spinable,
most are felting material.  It
might all be one color of
fiber, or might be assorted
colors

Selection.  All rovings
are a minimum of
approx. one foot in
length or the entire
order may be all in one
long roving.
We try very hard to
pick out all Superwash
but we cannot
guarantee that we
might not miss some.

We are not getting as much colored mill ends as before.  We may not
be able to fill larger orders with all the same stripe.  Some may have
solid color along with stripes in your order.  We will try to have a least
a pound per variety in these larger orders......and this does mean 2 lb.
or larger
We are also offering a Dark Roving.........Black Brown
some are Black/Brown/White with the white being mohair and some are
just Black/Brown wool. Assorted widths of stripings, or solid color
WHITE MILL END ROVING WOES
The mill has improved their performance with
the machines and well trained folks running
them.  This is good for the mill, not so good for
us.  We are not getting a great deal of the white
mill ends each month, and have sold out of our
surplus.  Rarely do we find any long pieces in
the mill ends, or enough of one kind to make up
an order.  We must search each bag and pull
any and all whites to fill ANY orders.  it takes
lots of time to sort and untangle the "tadpoles'
to fill ANY WHITE ORDER orders.
Assorted whites and lengths
will be in the bags of ANY  
WHITE order.   It is possible
some may be superwash as
well.  Know this before you buy.
 If you want  to be sure the wool
is all the same, buy the #1 wool
rovings from the WHITE PAGE.

Know that this new batch of Grab Bag material appears to have
lots of Superwash in it.   The bells are not as defined as some we
have had in the past, there is some color involved as well as the
grays and whites.  If you are felting, be sure to test before you
spend your time making an item from this...
